Mid-South Agricultural Trade Conference Scheduled for March 5

Farmers, agribusinesses, and agriculture leaders will benefit from attending the Mid-South Agricultural Trade Conference on March 5 on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin. The conference offers attendees a unique opportunity to learn about the role, importance, and significance of international trade on local agriculture production, markets, and economies as well as equipping them with an increased awareness of agriculture exporting tools and resources.

Tennessee 4-H member Will Dalton is one of eight teens selected from across the nation to sit on the Design Team for the 100th National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga. This Design Team is responsible for planning and executing one of the largest national events 4-H has to offer, with attendance often exceeding 1,000 4-H members.

Smartt returns to TFC board

A familiar face has returned to represent Zone 3 on the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative board of directors. George Smartt of McMinnville, a TFC director who previously served on the board from 2006-14, was unanimously elected to a three-year term on the nine-member board during TFC’s 2019 annual meeting Dec. 2 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville.  

Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association to hold 34th annual convention and trade show

The Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association (TCA) will celebrate 35 years of serving the state’s cattle producers with its annual convention and trade show in Murfreesboro on Jan. 10-11. Attendees will  hear from top livestock industry speakers addressing topics like herd health, forage systems, sustainability, and the current state of the beef business.
