Celebrate National FFA Week

FFA members celebrating with confetti flying in the air.
National FFA Week is here, and at Tennessee Farmers Co-op (TFC), we couldn’t be prouder to support the future of agriculture by investing in the young men and women of FFA. From February 15-22, 2025, we’re celebrating the students, advisors, and alumni who continue to shape the future of farming and rural communities.

If you’ve ever attended an FFA event, you’ve seen firsthand the passion, dedication, and hard work these young people bring to the table. Whether they’re showing livestock, competing in skill challenges, or taking on leadership roles, FFA members develop skills that last a lifetime.

Why Should Your Kids Join FFA?
If your child has an interest in agriculture, leadership, or simply wants to be part of something bigger, FFA is a great place to start. Here’s how FFA helps shape future leaders:
  • Confidence Boost – Public speaking contests, leadership roles, and competitions help FFA members gain confidence in themselves and their abilities.
  • Lifelong Friendships – Many FFA members say their best friends are the ones they met through FFA. Being surrounded by people who share the same passions creates lasting connections.
  • Industry Knowledge – Whether your child plans to stay in agriculture or explore another career, the skills and knowledge gained in FFA translate to many different industries.
  • Healthy Living – Understanding where food comes from and how to build a sustainable lifestyle is a core part of FFA’s mission.
  • Strong Work Ethic – Hard work, time management, and dedication are all part of FFA projects, whether it's raising an animal, managing an agriscience experiment, or running for office.
  • Good Sportsmanship – From stock shows to public speaking contests, FFA teaches the value of healthy competition and learning from every experience.
  • Scholarship Opportunities – Being an FFA member opens doors to scholarships that can help fund higher education.

Co-op’s Commitment to FFA
TFC and many of our local Co-ops across the state are proud to support FFA chapters through sponsorships, event participation, and mentorship. In 2024, the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative Foundation donated more than $120,000 to support both FFA and 4-H, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to grow and succeed.
We believe in the future of agriculture because we see its potential every day in the students who wear the blue jacket with pride.

How You Can Get Involved
If your child is interested in FFA, reach out to their school’s agriculture teacher or visit tnffa.org to learn more. Whether they join to explore a career in agriculture or simply to gain valuable life skills, the experience they gain will shape their future for the better.
This National FFA Week, let’s celebrate the young people who are working hard to build a better future for agriculture and our communities. And from all of us at Co-op — thank you to the advisors, parents, and supporters who help make it all possible!
