Prior to joining UT, Huebner was the senior associate athletics director and chief financial officer with the University of South Florida.

Huebner has extensive experience in finance, budgeting, accounting, strategic planning, procurement, forecasting, risk management, and capital projects. Through his work with the UT Athletics Department, he has developed a successful track record of handling large-scale projects and demonstrated the financial leadership needed to produce impactful results. Huebner is no stranger to agriculture. He grew up in Wisconsin where he experienced firsthand the life and work of agriculture on both sets of his grandparents’ dairy farms. Huebner says, “I am very excited about the opportunity to return to my roots, and I understand the amazing impacts agriculture and natural resources and UTIA have on the state of Tennessee and beyond. I look forward to being able to provide the financial leadership needed to carry out UTIA’s daily work.”

In a letter to faculty and staff announcing Huebner’s appointment, UTIA Senior Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice President Keith Carver wrote, “The institute is an outstanding organization improving people’s lives every single day. I am so looking forward to our future!”

Carver also extended his sincere appreciation to Ron Maples for his outstanding leadership serving as interim associate vice chancellor of business and finance during the search. Maples will continue serving in an advisory role for the remainder of the calendar year to assist Hueber in the transition to his new role.
