Milan No-Till Field Day Scheduled for July 25

The 33rd Milan No-Till Field Day will be hosted on Thursday, July 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the AgResearch and Education Center at Milan, part of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA). This year’s event will be in person only with no online component and is free to attend.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn the latest developments regarding no-till farming, including production strategies, industry regulations, results from local research trials, management options for weeds, pests and diseases and much more. Attendees will also be able to participate in research tours led by row crop experts from across the Mid-South, in addition to a trade show featuring local representatives from agricultural organizations.
“Milan No-Till Field Day is one of the largest events in the nation dedicated to conservation tillage,” says Blake Brown, director of the AgResearch and Education Center at Milan. “No-till is utilized by approximately 90% of row crop producers in Tennessee, and this event will provide essential information needed to have a successful growing season whether you have a large operation or only farm part time.”
Milan No-Till Field Day first began in 1981 to teach producers about the benefits of no-till farming over traditional tillage. Today, it continues to attract thousands of people from across the nation interested in improving soil conservation and agricultural production. Certified Crop Adviser and pesticide recertification points will be offered for attendees.
