SUMMARY:
Co-op Farm Hardware & TBA was established in 2025 and focuses on sales, marketing, customer service, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution for farm supplies at TFC, AFC, and Faithway Feeds. The Welder at the LaVergne Gate Plant is responsible for welding components, operating and maintaining machinery, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and comfort working in various indoor and outdoor conditions. The position supports daily manufacturing operations and may require overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Welding experience preferred
- Knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment and manual tools
- Understanding of the manufacturing process
- Self-motivation to complete daily tasks and procedures
- Thorough work ethic with high attention to detail
- Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to follow directions and ability to work effectively with little to no supervision
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold, noise, dust, vibration, near moving mechanical parts and electrical sources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate equipment to optimum efficiencies to meet quality, cost and operational requirements of daily schedules
- Weld small and large components to manufacture gates
- Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines performing the job
- Maintain and repair all machinery
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors
- Follow all company guidelines regarding manufactured products
- Evaluate manufacturing process and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Keep accurate and complete records of all products manufactured at Gate Plant facility
- Notify management of any production, safety, quality or environmental concerns with equipment, operation or facility
- Observe, follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks and safety shoes, as per company safety standards
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
- Weld components in flat, vertical and overhead positions
- Prompt and regular attendance
- Some overtime may be required
