SUMMARY:
AgCentral Farmers Cooperative is a trusted partner in the agricultural industry, dedicated to supporting the success of local producers. They are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Agronomy Applicator to join their team in Athens, TN. This role will be responsible for the accurate and safe application of agronomic products, including fertilizers, crop protection products, and other agronomic treatments, to customer fields. The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of operating sprayers and spreaders, maintain equipment, and work closely with the agronomy team to meet the needs of our farming customers. Applicators must comply with all safety regulations and state licensing requirements for chemical application.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license; Class B CDL preferred; Sprayer drivers must have Class A CDL
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tennessee Commerical Pesticide Applicator License
- Prior experience in operating spray rigs or fertilizer spreaders is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Willingness to work seasonal hours, including early mornings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor agricultural environments
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Delivers bulk feed and other products to customer locations
- Picks up goods and materials, loads and unloads cargo, verifies shipments for accuracy, and delivers them as instructed
- Analyzes geographical maps to avoid dangerous routes and acclimates to all types of seasons
- Records sales or provides information on daily sales or delivery records with accuracy
- Listens to and resolves service complaints
- Performs pre-inspection, routine maintenance, and cleaning of the truck and other equipment
- Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures
- Provides exceptional customer service to farmer members and other patrons of AgCentral Farmers Cooperative
