Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association Announces Summer Conference in Sevierville

May 15, 2023

The Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association (TCA) is pleased to announce its upcoming summer conference, “Stockmen in the Smokies,” which will be held on July 21-22, 2023, in Sevierville. The conference promises to be an exciting event for cattle producers and industry professionals, featuring educational sessions, networking opportunities, and a variety of fun activities.

Attendees will have the chance to hear from experts in the field, including keynote speaker Amanda Radke, a well-known agricultural writer, leader, and speaker. Radke is a fifth-generation South Dakota rancher and the author of several children’s books about the beef industry. Her session will focus on shifting mindsets and building relationships in today's marketplace. Other sessions will feature speakers like NCBA’s Policy Chairman, Gene Copenhaver, and a panel discussion on how cattle producers can utilize genomics. Dr. Charley Martinez, assistant professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Tennessee, will discuss increasingly popular PRF and LRP insurance programs. Other topics such as forage, cattle health, and marketing strategies, will be covered.

"We are excited to offer such a diverse range of programming at this summer’s conference," said Charles Hord, TCA’s executive vice president. "From our keynote speaker to the youth activities to the meetings for the CattleWomen's Association, there will be something for everyone. We're looking forward to bringing the cattle industry together for this event in the beautiful Smoky Mountains."

On Friday, there will be an award luncheon where deserving individuals will be recognized for their contributions to the cattle industry in Tennessee and attendees will hear from legislators who were invited to the meeting. TCA recognizes the important role that legislative advocacy plays in promoting the interests of the state's cattle producers, and the luncheon provides an opportunity for lawmakers and industry professionals to share about issues and priorities.

Cattle producers will not want to miss out on the trade show (open on both Friday and Saturday) to learn about new products and services that could benefit their farming businesses.

The conference will take place at the Sevierville Convention Center, located at 202 Gists Creek Rd, Sevierville, TN 37876. Registration is now open, and early bird pricing is available until June 30, 2023. For more information, visit www.tncattle.org/2023-summer-meeting, and to pre-register, visit www.tncattle.org/shop.

TCA is a non-profit organization that represents cattle producers in Tennessee. Its mission is to promote the cattle industry, protect cattle producers' interests, and educate the public about the importance of agriculture. www.tncattle.org @tennesseecattle.
