More than 60 teams participated in the fifth annual Shooting Hunger Sporting Clays Fun Shoot on June 6 at the Carroll County Shooting Sports Park in Huntingdon. Enthusiasts spent the day shooting sporting clays for a worthy cause and competing for prizes.

The event raised funds to provide more than 250,000 meals for Middle and West Tennessee residents in need through the efforts of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Mid-South Food Bank of Memphis. The organizations work with partners to distribute food to hungry families throughout the region.

”Shooting Hunger continues to be one of our favorite activities,” says Ryan King, Tennessee Farmers Cooperative’s events and marketing coordinator. “We fully support the work of these two fine organizations and their important work fighting hunger. Co-op is proud to be a contributor to this important cause.”

Tennessee Farmers Cooperative is a major sponsor of the shoot along with Tennessee Farm Bureau and Farm Credit Mid-America. An additional Shooting Hunger Event will be held later this fall at the Nashville Gun Club on September 26. Contact Ryan King for details at rking@ourcoop.com.
