Straight out of the vault

New edition in the Co-op’s commemorative 4-H/FFA knife collection available this fall
By Allison Parker 9/29/2017

Tennessee Farmers Cooperative’s unique and highly successful 4-H/FFA Case pocketknife series is back for the 17th year and more exclusive than ever, ready to raise funds for 4-H and FFA.

Since 2001, this program has raised nearly $350,000, including a record $36,200 last year, to help equally fund the youth programs. 4-H and FFA are two of the largest and most influential youth development organizations in the country.

Chance Martin, product specialist in TFC’s Home Lawn Specialty (HLS) Department, says anticipation for this collectible is as high as ever.

“Some of our member Co-op stores already have waiting lists to make sure eager customers will get this edition,” says Martin, who handles the Case line for the Co-op system. “Many people are looking forward to this new knife, and we’re confident that we will reach our goal of selling out again this year.”

For the first time in Co-op history, this year’s limited edition pocketknife has been chosen from the Case vault. Because it’s a part of the vault series, the pattern will not be produced for any other reason for 10 years, making it the most exclusive knife Co-op has offered.

“It is always a pleasure to be involved in the 4-H/FFA knife project,” says Martin. “We are proud to partner with organizations that support youth involved in agriculture because we realize that they are not only the future of our Co-op system, but they are the future of the entire industry. We are proud to celebrate the success of this program, and we plan to continue our support of such a worthy cause.”

The 2017 Co-op 4-H and FFA commemorative knife is a Case Medium Congress pattern. It retails for $59.99 and will feature Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel, sheepsfoot and pen blades, and jigged molasses bone handles. There are FFA and 4-H logos deeply engraved on the nickel silver bolsters. The Case and

Co-op logos are printed on one blade, with FFA and 4-H logos on the other. The knife is packaged in a one-of-a-kind, full-color box.

Co-op also offers an exclusive, custom walnut showcase (#1082988), in which all of the 4-H/FFA knives to date can be handsomely displayed as a single collection. Retailing for $99.99, the case features a glass front with a 4-H, FFA, Co-op, and Case logo printed in each corner.

“Co-op supports programs like 4-H and FFA because they give back to what we as a company believe in – the future of agriculture,” says Martin.
