Register now for 2017 Tennessee Valley Livestock Conference

5/26/2017

The 2017 Tennessee Valley Livestock Conference will be held Tuesday, June 27, at the Walters State Expo Center located at 1615 Pavilion Drive in White Pine.

Sponsored by Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, the event is a joint presentation of   the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association, the Tennessee Dairy Producers Association, the North Carolina Cattlemen’s Association, and the Virginia Cattlemen’s Association.

Kicking off the conference will be headline speaker Trent Loos, an agriculture radio personality known for his show “Loos Tales” and as a member of President Trump’s Ag Advisory Committee. Loos is a sixth-generation farmer from Central Nebraska who has accepted the challenge to tell the story of modern farming methods because “too much of what the consumers know today isn’t so.”

Tennessee Farmers Cooperative nutritionist Royce Towns will be on hand to offer tips on getting the most from summer fescue.

Other program topics will focus on grazing management, beef quality assurance and cattle health, direct marketing ideas, and live cattle working and grading demonstrations.  There will also be a trade show and breed exhibits on the arena floor.

Producers can preregister for the event for $20 per person until June 20, after which the cost will be $30 per person. Fees can be paid via credit card at the TCA website, tncattle.org, by faxing the form at right to

(615) 896-0244, or by calling (615) 896-2333.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the conference kicking off promptly at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided.

TCA has secured a block of rooms for the conference. They are available at the Hampton Inn at 5368 Winners Circle in Morristown, (423) 839-1920. Mention the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association to take advantage of the convention rate.
