Ag Equipment USA, a farm equipment company headquartered in LaVergne, TN. Ag Equipment USA is a division of Tennessee Farmers Cooperative (TFC), a regional supply and service organization that has been a leader in the agricultural supply business for almost 60 years.
Mark Posey, manager of the company, heads up a dedicated team of 19 that handles sales, parts, service, material handling, and shipping of the tractors and other farm equipment. Ag Equipment USA offers a wide variety of quality hay equipment, livestock and flat bed trailers, fertilizer/lime spreaders, bulk feed haulers, and a complete line of crop-spraying equipment.
“Steady growth in farm implement sales and selection has increasingly brought TFC and its member Co-ops to the forefront in the business,” says Posey. “Because of the attention we have received over the past few years by manufacturers, we are one of the few cooperatives that is a member of FEMA, the Farm Equipment Manufacturers’ Association.”
Ag Equipment USA doesn’t let distance stand in the way of supplying top, brand-name products. Currently, the company is importing hardware products from all over the world. It orders twine from Brazil; hay tedders and rakes from Italy; three-point hitch spreaders, rotary tillers, and all-purpose plows from Denmark; disk mowers from Germany; and Flex Harrow equipment from England.
“Importing today is not the same as it was 20 years ago,” says Posey. “What some people don’t understand is that most of the farm equipment farmers buy today is manufactured in another country. For instance, Germany is well known for manufacturing hay equipment and disk mowers. They are the pioneers in that industry, regardless of the brand. India is the largest manufacturer of tractors in the world number-wise. And most tractors under 50 horsepower sold in the United States are actually manufactured in Japan.
“It’s not that we avoid buying American products; we are just going out and getting the best, competitively priced farm equipment on the market for our customers. And that’s what Ag Equipment USA is all about. We offer a collection of the finest agricultural products anywhere in the world.”
